Jephthah Pt. 2: Calling All Outlaws

Feb 12, 2017    Allen Coleman    Judges: Fallen People, Faithful God

Redemption is defined in a variety of ways in our culture, and usually pertains to specifics of rehabilitation and recovery. However, we see throughout Scripture, and particularly here in the story of Jephthah, that God’s redemption is far more powerful and complete. Not a moment of our lives is wasted: our unsuccessful plans, our unexpected pain, the untruthful accusations against us, and the unfinished people in our lives all work to redeem our every circumstance for our deeper joy. Our final redemption is brought about in the gospel, through the plan of God the Father, the pain of God the Son, and the power of God the Holy Spirit. We are redeemed by our salvation through faith in Christ, and we are continually formed into the image of Christ as we live in obedience to him.
