The Pastor's Opus

May 5, 2019    Allen Coleman    Acts: The Church Is Strengthened

The role of pastor is a gift from God to the local church. Acts 20:17-38 records a meeting with the Apostle Paul and the Ephesian elders (pastors). This gathering of pastors is an intimate gathering of Christian brothers who are serving the body of Christ. Through examination of the text we get insight into how a pastor should live, how a pastor should speak, and how a pastor’s heart should be motivated by God’s grace. For it is only through God’s grace that the role of pastor has any true value. Paul writes in Acts 20:32, “And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”
