A Legacy Of Repentance

Apr 9, 2017    Allen Coleman    Ephesians 6:1-4

Parenting and discipleship is a long, hard process. Along the journey, we ourselves are hurt by others, and we, in turn, can hurt others in similar or different ways. Repentance is the all-important key to covering past hurts and preventing future pain. As we strive towards leaving a legacy in which repentance is the norm, we must learn to show honor, demonstrate forgiveness, and pay careful attention to our own desires and sinful inclinations. Flourishing comes when God’s dreams for those we are shepherding become our dreams for them, and only a repentant, self-examining, and healing heart can share in these fruitful desires.
