Compromising In Pergamum

May 22, 2016    Allen Coleman    Abandoned: The Seven Ruins of a Local Church

The city of Pergamum is comprised of the well educated, innovative, and spiritually prideful. Jesus addresses this capital city's church body regarding their need to hold fast to him and to not compromise their theology for the culture around them.

Jesus is not blind to where he has put your church or where he has put you. Wherever you are, he's asking you to hold fast to his name. Because a good church confesses to good theology and a good church also contends for good theology. We cannot turn a blind eye to bad theology, because bad theology is life-taking.

We must be both confessors and contenders of good theology for the lives of others, our church, and ourselves.
