Bringing Down The House
Topic: Worship Scripture: Acts 6:8–6:15
This week we learn more about Stephen, one of the first deacons of the church, who was doing great wonders and signs among the people, working full of grace and power. His presence and work caused yet another stirring within the council of Jewish elites. When Stephen was brought before this council, they accused him and questioned him primarily concerning one thought: the claim that Jesus of Nazareth came to destroy the temple and change the customs of Moses. Did Jesus actually say this? Was Stephen saying the same in his preaching? Is Luke, the author of Acts, congruent in his thinking on the matter? Why is this all so important? Listen as we uncover these answers and ultimately turn our affections to Jesus, the true substance of every shadow we find in this life.
