Prep Notes - Wednesday May 06
Prep Notes for Wednesday May 06
Hi everyone,
Here are the primary discussion questions for this Wednesday night. Think through and
be ready to discuss, but as always please bring your own thoughts, observations, and
questions and we can work through them together.
1. Take a moment and consider where you find greed most prevalent in your life.
What kinds of things attract your affections and attention? Is it money? Is it
hobbies? Clothes? Why do you think you might desire those things so
particularly?
2. Meditate on Proverbs 1:19.
How does your connection to such things affect you?
What might it mean for greed to “take away the life of its possessor?”
3. Meditate together on Proverbs 23:4-7.
a. Where do you find it difficult to discern between a healthy and an
unhealthy relationship with money and possession?
b. Where would you like help?
c. Why is friendship with a greedy person unwise?
4. Meditate together on 1 Timothy 6:6-10.
a. How might contentment with Godliness be great gain?
b. Are you content with just the bare necessities? Why might that be
particularly difficult for us?
c. What do you think the temptation mentioned in verse 9 is? How might that
harm us?
d. How could your greed cause you to wander away from the faith?
God bless, looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday!
