Our Anthem

Our Anthem

Why We Exist

Rather than devising our own mission, vision and purpose...we humbly submit to the mission, vision and purpose already given to us by Jesus:

  • Jesus already sent us on His mission to others, which is why we don't have our own mission statement (Matthew 28:18-20).
  • Jesus already gave us His vision for the future, which is why we don't have our own vision statement (Philippians 2:10-11).
  • Jesus already called us to His purpose for our lives, which is why we don't have our own purpose statement (2 Timothy 1:9).

Having said all that, we do have an anthem:

anthem | an-thuh m |
a rousing or uplifting song or idea identified with a particular group, body, or cause as an expression of identity.

Our anthem is to Make Jesus Known. We do this as a people sent by Jesus, a city within a city, contending for what we believe. We seek to display the glory of God by our faithfulness to Him, His Word, and His people.

And he said to them, “GO into all the world and PROCLAIM the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever BELIEVES and is baptized will be saved . . ." —Mark 16:15-16

Make Jesus Known by going (Mark 16:15) into the culture as His "sent ones" regardless of time and context, trusting in the timless truths of Scripture.

Make Jesus Known by proclaiming (Matthew 16:15) a loving gospel of grace to those who have ears to hear (Matthew 11:15), which includes sound doctrine (Titus 2:1), contending for the Bible truths (Jude 3), which are God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16), as they are all about Jesus (John 1:1-2,14).

Make Jesus Known by believing (Mark 16:16) in faith all Jesus commands, albeit it imperfectly (Hebrews 4:15), which subsequently produces good works (James 2:26).
